Who we are
Volley is a service run by Volley Voice ("we", "us"). It gives businesses AI agents that call, text and email the people they work with. This policy covers the website at volleyvoice.com and the Volley app.
Questions about it, or about anything we keep about you, go to hello@volleyvoice.com.
Two kinds of people, two roles
Customers are the businesses, and the people in them, who sign up for Volley. For their accounts we decide what is kept and why.
Contacts are the people a customer's agents call, text or email. A customer brings those contacts to Volley and decides why they are contacted; for that information the customer is in charge, and we keep and use it only to run the service for them. If you were contacted by a business that uses Volley, that business is the one to ask first; we will help them answer you.
What we keep
About customers:
- Your name and email address, and the sessions you sign in with.
- Your workspace: the business's name, website, time zone, settings, agents, scripts and the files you add to its knowledge.
- What you spend: the wallet's balance and every movement in it. Card payments are handled by a payment processor; we never see or keep a full card number.
- An audit log of changes made in the workspace: who did what, and when.
About contacts, as the customer gives them to us or as the agents learn them:
- Names, phone numbers, email addresses, the business they belong to, and the fields the customer keeps on them.
- Calls: the recording, when the customer has recording on, and the transcript, with a written reading of the call (who was reached, what was said, what was promised).
- Texts and emails sent and received, and whether a link sent in them was opened, with the time and the kind of device.
- A short summary of past conversations, so the next conversation can go on where the last one stopped.
- Requests not to be contacted again, which are kept so they are respected.
About visitors to this website: nothing beyond what any web server notes to deliver a page. The website sets no tracking cookies and carries no advertising tags. It remembers only whether you chose the light or dark look, in your own browser.
Signing in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, we ask Google only for your email address, whether Google has verified it, and your name. We use them to find or create your account and to show your name in the app. We do not ask for access to your mail, contacts, calendar or files, and we do not keep the tokens Google returns beyond the moment you sign in.
Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Why we use it
- To run the service a customer asked for: to place and answer calls, send texts and emails, and decide and schedule the next step.
- To show the customer what happened and what it cost, call by call.
- To keep the service safe, to stop abuse, and to respect calling hours, consent and do-not-contact requests.
- To bill the customer for what was used.
- To answer questions and to tell customers about changes to the service.
AI and your information
Volley's agents are AI. Conversations are processed by AI models to listen, speak, write texts and emails, and read what happened on a call. Those models are run for us by service providers under contract.
We do not use one customer's calls, contacts or files to serve another customer, and we do not allow our providers to train their models on them. An agent always says it is an AI when it is asked.
Who helps us run it
We share information only with the providers we need to run Volley, each for its own part of the work:
- Cloud hosting and storage, where the service and its data live.
- Phone carriers, to place and receive calls and texts.
- AI model providers, to listen, speak and write.
- An email delivery service, to send and receive email.
- A payment processor, to take card payments.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it to others only when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
How long we keep it
- Account and workspace information: while the account is open.
- Call recordings: for the number of days the customer set on the agent that made the call; each recording is removed when its days are over.
- Transcripts, messages and summaries: while the workspace is open, unless the customer deletes them sooner.
- Do-not-contact requests: for as long as the service runs, so they keep being respected.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Customers can change their name and email in the app, and delete their account from their profile.
- Anyone can ask us for a copy of what we keep about them, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to hello@volleyvoice.com.
- A contact who says on a call or in a reply that they want no more contact is marked as such, and is not called, texted or emailed again by that business.
- Replying STOP to a text stops further texts from that number.
We answer requests within 30 days, and sooner when the law asks for it.
Security
Information travels encrypted, each workspace's data is kept apart from every other's in the database, sign-in uses single-use links or Google with no passwords to steal, and access by our own staff is limited to running and supporting the service. No system is perfectly safe; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
Volley is a service for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly keep information about children.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. When a change matters, we tell customers by email before it takes effect.
